Here is where I’m supposed to tell you that I was born with a camera in hand, on a chilly fall morning back in 1979… Writing about myself feels so pretentious, but I guess I shouldn’t leave this section blank.
I recently closed down my freelance commercial photography business after 14 successful years so I can focus on my family and return to my roots of photography as art. It was a tough decision, but in the end I was tired and sad at always working during my kids’ events. It’s been so emotionally liberating to have time to photograph for me and to display my work in galleries again. It’s like returning to the good ol’ days as a photography major, minus that gorgeous smell of vanilla-scented stop bath.
I am a huge sci-fi nerd. A scouting Mom. An authenticity champion. An enneagram 4 with a 3 wing.
I run like a turtle in peanut butter, but I do my best thinking when I’m putting miles on my feet. I’ll get to the finish line… eventually. Yoga and meditation are my spirituality.
I end every day with a hot mug of tea. I wanted to be a wine person– all the cool kids are– but I’m just not.
If you can’t find me, I’m probably in the woods, camping with some scouts.
Stargazing centers me. Nothing else can remind me that my problems are small, yet I am deeply connected to something bigger.
I believe in unconditional love. I believe in compassion for others. I believe in living your own authentic life. Ditch the airbrush treatment on instagram- that’s toxic.
