This week’s blog post has us back in my favorite walking path in Bel Air, MD, featuring two hilarious kids with a case of the giggles. The October leaves were just starting to change, celebrating the most beautiful transition of seasons. I love fall, and I love the way it photographs in your family portraits.
This brother-and-sister dynamic duo couldn’t stop laughing and it was perfection. We had some silly dances. Plenty of fart jokes. And a serious case of, “help, I can’t stop laughing” giggle fits. Silly kids make my job easy.
In other words, it was the best possible scenario for an afternoon of play and love and photographs.
Look at how they are so happy to lay on Mom. She is their rock- the one who can cure anything, soothe any wound, and cheer up a bad day in an instant. She keeps the family moving, even when life gets over scheduled and complicated.
Big sister ran the show. She’s got a silly, sweet, and spunky personality. And I’m in love with the missing two front teeth- one of my favorite stages of growing up.
Little brother is more of the reserved type, though no less hilarious. He just needs his time to warm up to the situation. He has a quiet sort of wisdom, and one of the best belly laughs in town.
But through our entire time together, one theme was abundantly clear- cuddle time rules the roost. These two threw themselves into Mom and Dad, and even each other, at any chance they could get. The threads of unconditional love run deep, and they were glowing brightly! The kids in our lives are our mirror, and these two reflected safety, comfort, love.
The very best portrait sessions end in shrieks of laughter, tickles, and out of breath kids. I keep them running, I keep them busy, and in the chaos and fun they show you how much they love you.
