Early fall is such a beautiful month for a family portrait. The air is beginning to cool, losing the oppressive humidity and bugs of the summer. You aren’t doing the fall-color gamble… will there be vibrant leaves, or will they have fallen early leaving your portraits with naked trees in the background? The leaves are beginning to change, so it doesn’t look like summer, and you are outside early enough in the season that you aren’t at risk for 40 degree temps.
I’m back at my favorite Bel Air walking path for this family’s Harford County portrait session.
These girls were such a delight. All three were so loving to each other, especially doting on the littlest. They’d encourage her to smile in such a sweet manner, and they were quick to swoop in if it looked like she might trip on a rogue stick in the path. She is one lucky girl to have two big sisters like this.
The oldest herded everyone along, quiet in her strength and grace. She has a full loving heart, and kept her sister giggling. The sweet middle child is the spirited sister. She was not camera shy, quick to show off all sorts of pretty amazing gymnastics moves. And last, but certainly not least, the baby of the family… she tried so hard to keep up with her big sisters. Her smiles are so sweet and genuine- there was no fake smile or “say cheese” in her. When she smiled, her entire face lit up. When she smiled, both her sisters lit up as well.
These three girls are the definition of beauty, inside and out. Genuinely caring, loving, beautiful souls. The kind of loving personality that isn’t just luck, but fostered by the unconditional love they’ve clearly received since day one. Way to go, mama! You are raising some amazing young women.
