Last month, the town of Bel Air hosted a Spring Fling Big Band dance at the Armory. It was a fantastic night of live music, thanks to the Bel Air Community Band Jazz Ensemble. It was a completely free event, sponsored by the town. Lots of dancing, great food by MaGerks, and a crowd of all ages having a blast.
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I walked in. Would it just be the elderly crowd? A bunch of college kids? I was pleasantly surprised to find a wide range of ages– hanging out, chatting with friends, enjoying the music, dancing. One gentleman was celebrating his 89th birthday there!
This event is held every spring, and I know I’ll be back next year. I think I’ll bring the kids- the music was outstanding (the community band has some serious talent) and I know they’d really enjoy the dancing. This is a 100% family friendly event, so if your kids can stay up a little late without melting down, this is a fun (and did I mention free?) way to spend an evening together.
By the way – the Armory is a pretty neat venue. Did you know it’s available to rent for your next event? You can host your holiday party at the castle in Bel Air.
