Welcome back to my weekly recap of my 365 project. If you are just joining in, this is a project where I take a photo every day to illustrate my day to day life, finding the magic in those everyday moments. The photo can serve as a reminder of something fun we did that day, to show what our mundane really looks like, or to celebrate something about my children’s personalities or where they are in their lives right now.
When mama is sick and under orders to rest, it’s the 9 year old to the rescue! She’s cooking dinner and taking great care of everyone. (side note, did you know adults can get ear infections, too? I will forever have so much more sympathy to my sweet babies when they have one.)
These two. My oldest always makes time for her little sister. She is the first to jump in during a tantrum (usually to give in to the Tiny Dictator’s demands, because she “hates to see her cry and just wants to make her happy!”), she is the first to volunteer to get her a snack/drink/whatever else she needs, she always plays whatever games her little sister wants, such as pretending to buy and eat ice cream. She is her second mother, for sure. The bond between these two is lovely.
These two. While my oldest is a little mother, these two are more like typical siblings. They are best friends. He is her absolutely favorite playmate. All day long, she asks where he is, anxiously waiting for the school bus to bring him home. But as thick as their love is for each other, they fight like crazy. They push each other’s buttons like it’s going out of style. She bites him, he kicks her. They yell at each other several times a day. They take toys out of each other’s hands and suddenly only want to play with something simply because the other is holding it. In the car, their seats are near each other and she is constantly poking and jabbing at him, trying to rile him up. But if anyone messes with her, he is the first to jump up in defense. No one messes with his little sister. She idolizes him, and has him wrapped around her little finger.
May the 4th be with you. Star Wars dress up day at school. We have Princess Chewbacca, Luke in his pilor jumpsuit, and Princess Leia. I asked them to do a Star Wars pose and this is what happened, hahaha.
So grateful for her good friends. These two adore each other, look out for each other, and laugh together.
Daddy is teaching her how to paint minis. I love her look of sheer concentration as she works on her elven archer.
Thanks for stopping by! I’ll see you next week for more every day magic.
