It’s finally spring!
Week 14 has the discovery of beauty in the absolute mundane all the way to celebrating goals.
I’ve gone up twice to remind her that it’s bedtime. “I just need to finish this chapter…” She promises to turn her light off once it’s done. An hour later, I remember to check on her. Still reading. She smiles at me sheepishly, it seems she got lost in the story again and kept going. Every. Single. Night.
When you see your Mom setting up the studio, you naturally assume she wants to photograph you. You run downstairs to the dress up bin and immediately change into your favorite dress. When you find out that the set up isn’t for you, you will convince your Mom to photograph you anyway, sashaying to the chair and posing immediately. Naturally.
This is her castle. She dragged down pillows and blankets from her bed, her bedtime friends, and piggy bank. The air vent is the TV, and next to it is the fridge. The blank space between her pillow and the purple giraffe is the potty. She invited me to her castle and threw me a surprise party with invisible cake. Right now, she is about to go to bed because it’s night time, but luckily night only lasts about 5 minutes before it’s morning again.
The third grade medieval feast was today! I love the excitement on her face as the kids filed in and sat down, all costumed up and happy.
Unlike me, this kid actually loves to go to the dentist.
Crushing goals. We did the Sole of the City 10k today. When we signed up for these races, I felt really intimidated by a 10k. 5ks were still really hard for me. Now that I’ve finished it, I think I really like this length. It’s enough to really sink into a good mental zoning out, and it’s also long enough to run comfortably so I don’t burn out, as opposed to shorter runs where I feel like I should push harder since it’s less distance. Still terrified of the 12 miler in September, but if I can do this, I should be able to do that one. It’s just like doing this one twice, right?
Also, it’s really hard to get a decent composition while balancing the camera on the trunk of a car.
This little lady wants to train to run the Town Run with us this summer! I can’t wait to have a sidekick on the course with me.
Thanks for checking out my everyday moments for week 14!
